Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, recently engaged in separate telephone conversations with key officials from Lebanon and Mali, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing pressing regional issues. In a discussion with Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Tarek Mitri, Al Khulaifi expressed deep concern over the ongoing situation in Lebanon, particularly condemning the Israeli military actions on Lebanese soil. He described these actions as a violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and a significant threat to regional peace and stability.
Al Khulaifi highlighted the urgent need for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, calling for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement and the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. He urged the international community to take decisive steps to halt these violations and ensure the protection of Lebanon’s territorial integrity. Emphasizing Qatar’s continued support, Al Khulaifi reaffirmed his country’s commitment to standing with Lebanon and its people during this challenging period.
In a separate conversation with Mali’s Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop, Al Khulaifi explored opportunities to bolster cooperation between Qatar and Mali. The dialogue also covered recent developments in the African Sahel region, where security and stability remain pressing concerns. Al Khulaifi reiterated Qatar’s solidarity with Mali, expressing support for the nation’s efforts to safeguard the security and safety of its citizens amidst ongoing challenges.
