Speaking at the 17th International Energy Forum Ministerial Meeting in Riyadh, Al Kaabi highlighted the severe global energy crisis triggered by ongoing regional conflicts, which have disrupted approximately 20 percent of the world’s hydrocarbon supplies.

Al Kaabi emphasized that energy security is intrinsically linked to geopolitical stability and is critical to maintaining the global economy. In response, he called for stronger international efforts to safeguard energy assets, enhance the resilience of supply chains, and ensure a reliable energy supply amid escalating regional tensions.

The meeting, which convened energy ministers, government representatives, industry leaders, and international organizations, focused on discussions around energy security, supply chain resilience, and the evolving dynamics of global energy demand and supply. Al Kaabi expressed Qatar’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia and stressed the importance of international cooperation in these areas.

Al Kaabi’s statements underscore the urgent need for a global framework that separates energy supplies from political disputes and protects critical energy infrastructure. He advocated for collaborative efforts to address the challenges posed by current geopolitical tensions, aiming to stabilize the energy market and safeguard the global economy.
