Qatar Chamber’s First Vice Chairman, Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, recently held discussions with Vietnam’s Ambassador to Qatar, Nguyen Huy Hiep, at the chamber’s Lusail headquarters. The meeting aimed to bolster economic and trade ties between the two nations, focusing on the potential for enhanced cooperation between their private sectors.

The dialogue centered on the exploration of new investment avenues and the identification of key sectors for future collaboration. Al Kuwari emphasized Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering robust partnerships and joint ventures between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses, commending Vietnam’s impressive economic progress.

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep expressed Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic connections with Qatar, highlighting that bilateral trade surpassed $860 million in 2024—a $100 million increase from the previous year. He urged Qatari investors to consider opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and halal products, and recognized the role of Qatar Chamber in promoting Vietnamese goods in Qatar’s market.

Furthermore, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026. This prominent global trade event is set to take place in Ho Chi Minh City next September, focusing on sourcing, exports, and supply chain collaboration. The annual exhibition draws international companies and industry leaders from sectors like food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
