Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Katherina Reiche, affirmed that Qatar is a major and trusted partner for Germany, noting growing interest among German companies to collaborate with Qatari firms. She highlighted that a delegation of 20 major German companies from various sectors joined her visit, while many more expressed interest in exploring new partnerships.

Reiche emphasized that strong trade exchange reflects the solid economic relationship between the two nations. Germany’s advanced industrial capabilities and Qatar’s robust economy—projected to grow by 5% in the coming years—offer significant opportunities for expanding cooperation. She also noted that around 100 German companies are currently exploring digital and IT transformation projects in Qatar.

A roundtable discussion hosted by Qatar Chamber brought together the German delegation and Qatari business leaders to explore investment opportunities, bilateral trade prospects, and potential collaboration in sectors such as energy, industry, and information technology.

Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani underscored the importance of strengthening economic ties, praising Germany’s leadership in manufacturing and innovation. He noted that Qatar has developed into a dynamic commercial and industrial hub with world-class infrastructure, strategic location, and a strong commitment to economic diversification.

Trade volume between Qatar and Germany reached approximately QR 6.6 billion in 2024, and both sides expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation in advanced fields such as clean energy, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, healthcare, sports, education, satellites, and aviation technologies.
