Qatar’s Chargé d’Affaires in Rwanda, HE Ali bin Hamad Al Aida, stated that the Amir’s visit to Kigali comes at a pivotal moment marked by major regional and global developments. He emphasized that the visit reflects Qatar’s strategic vision to strengthen engagement with Africa and build broader partnerships that support security, stability, and sustainable development.

Al Aida noted that Rwanda has proven to be a reliable partner for Qatar, with both countries committed to advancing their bilateral relationship based on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests. He highlighted that ties between Doha and Kigali have grown significantly in recent years, supported by ongoing communication and aligned leadership priorities.

The envoy explained that cooperation has already delivered concrete progress in sectors such as security, education, transportation, and aviation. He said the visit is expected to include new agreements that will broaden collaboration, particularly in development, innovation, and investment.

Looking ahead, Al Aida described the Amir’s visit as the start of a new phase of deeper cooperation. He pointed to the Bugesera International Airport project—currently under construction—as a major example of expanding partnership, noting that its completion will enhance Rwanda’s role as a regional transportation and logistics hub.

He concluded by saying the evolving Qatar–Rwanda partnership demonstrates both countries’ commitment to sustainable development, regional integration, and building a shared, prosperous future.
