Strengthened security and military cooperation between Qatar and Saudi Arabia promises to enhance stability in the region, as both nations have reiterated their commitment to deepening their collaborative efforts. This development emerged following high-level talks in Riyadh, where senior officials from both countries met to discuss further integration of their defense strategies.
The meeting, held on Thursday, featured Qatar’s Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. It marked the fourth assembly of the Security and Military Committee, established under the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, which aims to bolster bilateral ties in these critical sectors.
During the discussions, the ministers reviewed the committee’s agenda, exploring various avenues to expand their security and military collaboration. These talks are part of an ongoing effort to address mutual concerns and align strategies that could have long-term benefits for the security landscape of the Gulf region.
