Qatar has organized a capacity-building workshop to prepare for the 2025/2026 cruise season, set to begin in November 2025. The two-day event focused on enhancing the passenger journey, addressing challenges, and sharing insights to advance the country’s growing cruise tourism sector.

The workshop brought together representatives from government bodies and private organizations, featuring sessions on global cruise trends, destination best practices, and innovative strategies to enrich visitor experiences. Interactive activities encouraged collaboration among stakeholders, with action plans developed to ensure smooth operations for the upcoming season.

Officials emphasized the importance of cruise tourism as a key pillar of Qatar’s tourism strategy, contributing to economic growth and strengthening the country’s position as a global destination. Participants were awarded certificates for their contributions during the event.

Qatar is expecting another strong cruise season, following last year’s record of more than 360,000 visitors from 87 ships, marking a 19% increase from the previous year. The positive momentum reflects the sector’s expanding role in supporting the national economy.
